Castle Park Photo Trip Report
June 24, 2012

Hey, look, the Dragon Tower reopened! Letsgoletsgoletsgo!

Audrey was kind enough to let the boys ride together. S&S Space Shots, even the base-model 100-footers, are always a blast, figurative and literal.

This Tilt-A-Whirl credit eluded us. Could this be the same model that ran as the "Mexican Whip" at Knott's? Regardless, behold example number eleventy-twelve of Castle Park's verdant splendor.

Okay, so, if you only ride one ride at Castle Park, it should be the Castle Park Railroad. Why? 1) It takes you on a full scenic tour of the grounds. 2) Hurlbut's company built the trains. 3) It has a spitting buffalo. 4) It's fun! 5) It has a spitting buffalo.

I love the Calico Mine trains, and I love the CPRR rolling stock, too. Like all the other rides, these trains were nearly spotless, like they'd been repainted and detailed the day before we got there. Three cheers to Parques Reunidos for maintaining everything with such care.

The "coal" car. And what's that on the lower left?

Yup, see? This is a Hurlbut original, man.

The second train, not in operation this day, sat to the side.
