Williams Grove Amusement Park's Cyclone Gallery

I think we all agree that there's something both sad and eerily beautiful to see roller coasters long silenced as they are slowly consumed by nature, like the ruins of a lost civilization.

Reader JW Green was kind enough to send a portfolio of images recently shot at Williams Grove Amusement Park, in Mechanicsburg, PA, of its SNBO Cyclone/Zipper, an "ACE Coaster Classic" that, barring an outright miracle, will never run again. This ride, designed by Oscar Bitler and opened in 1933, last operated in 2006. Take a look at its condition five years since:
