On to the mazes:
Universal Monsters Remix

Seriously, WHAT? I know this must be a real chore for Murdy and Co., figuring out how to turn the "Chamber of Horrors" into a decent maze every year. They're stuck with a lot of elements that can't be messed with too much, so we have to cut them slack on this puppy. And hey, I have no beef with dubstep, or whatever the hell it is... but unless I missed something, all that's different from the permanent daytime version was some lasers and the loud music... and a Frankenstein monster working the turntable in the laboratory, no joke. (That almost has to be seen to be believed.) Oh, and one super-foxy dancer in there, too (a plus, granted). Okay, and there seemed to be a lot more hanging strings, you know the ones that catch you in the face; those always give me the shivers.
Sure, there were some scares, always are. But this was WAY too silly for me. I don't know, maybe "the kids" will love it. Because it's their music. Anyway, no one in our group ranked this highly, but that's no surprise with the caliber of everything else here.
Welcome to Silent Hill

If something is part of the horror culture, I may not know it intimately, but I'm usually at least aware of and have some vague familiarity with it. But the Silent Hill game/movie franchise? I'm almost completely ignorant. "Fog World," "Otherworld," "Pyramid Head," "The Bogeyman," these things mean nothing to me, which is a problem I need to address. I'm sure I would have enjoyed this maze more had I been clearer on the story being told. Also, it was a little understocked with scareactors when we went through, as can happen.
That said, this was a beautifully produced maze; the sets, the costumes, the make-up effects, everything looked dynamite. And these messed up nurses?

Whatever their deal is, they were wonderfully disturbing.

They had 'em staggering around just outside The Mummy, too. In some sick way, I found them quite appealing, actually.
And if you like olfactory nastiness in your mazes, then you can't pass up Silent Hill, for one scene alone. So, definitely worthwhile, probably moreso if you're a big fan of the games.
