Pinocchio Unstrung
[Spoiler alert: photos of maze interiors follow]

As is related in many of the discussions in these podcasts, front office support for this Haunt was tremendous and it really shows. The level of detail and finish on all the new mazes, and most of the returning mazes, is better than I've ever seen at Knott's, so beautiful. Pinocchio Unstrung is a perfect example; just look at that maze portal! Magnifique!

This maze is in the old Doll Factory location and that it involves more creepy-ass dolls and puppets and creepy-scary-hot puppet ladies and such makes me very happy.

Watch out for these little dudes that skitter out at you. EEEK! (Have you ever seen that infamous TV movie from the 70s, "Trilogy of Terror," with Karen Black? It's that last episode, "Amelia," with the Zuni fetish doll that goes on a murderous rampage, HOLY EFF, that is one of the scariest things I've ever seen. So little dolls that have come to life and want to hurt you? NO LIKE.)

This maze's story is all about puppets, and turning humans into puppets, and some of the gory mess that comes with turning humans into puppets, but the non-gore stuff is what impressed me the most. (Though don't get me wrong; there's a lot of gore in here and it's YUMMY.)

Here's Jenna disappearing into the gullet of some horrible creature.

Creepy-scary-hot puppet ladies FTW! Again, look at how much effort has been put into the sets and costuming and make-up, Bravo!

So loverly.

A very, very messy thing, making puppets out of people.

How much do I love this big Pinocchio monster, the puppet who wanted to be a real boy, but can't, so he's making real people into puppets? So freaking much it hurts.
FANTASTIC MAZE.
