Cedar Point 2011 Trip Report
Sept. 1, 2011

EPIC FAIL. (Not you, Maverick.) Yeah, so they retracked some of Mean Streak. Whatever. For maybe ten seconds, I didn't want to kill myself. Get Rocky Mountain Coasters on the horn, immediately.
(Or very carefully dismantle it, and use all that lumber to build two GCIs... something...)
Anyway, high winds kept Windseeker from operating that afternoon (ironic!) and it didn't restart until just before the park closed for the day, when we had to leave (sleepy kids and all). But we did see the after-dark light show that ride creates, and it is phantasmagorically beautiful.

Day Two began with some Raptor love.

I'd have to say that Busch Gardens Tampa's Montu is still the greatest B&M inverted coaster running, but Raptor is head and shoulders over many of the others.

It looks cherry, and rides like brand-new as well. Poetry in high-speed motion.

Inverted coasters rock!

And Raptor rules the skies, verily.

Look at all that twisty awesomeness... (Honestly, if Bolliger & Mabillard did nothing but build inverted coasters, they'd still be superstars in my book.)
