Knott's Scary Farm Halloween Haunt 2009
Oct. 17th

All in all, in a generous frame of mind, I'd give this year's Haunt a B-. Without question, when it comes to quantity, nobody can touch the Farm: tons to do, monsters everywhere, long, long mazes, lots of shows. More than once, I was totally enveloped in fog - nice! And there are a couple of backstreets in the Ghost Town section where it gets really dark. That'll give you the heebie-jeebies for sure. It's also a guarantee that you'll get snuck up upon by something snarly more times than you'll be able to count.

Pumpkins!

Know that just about all the regular rides are running, too. Dariush isn't a big coaster fan, so I didn't drag him onto Ghostrider, but a nighttime ride on that bad boy is mighty tasty.

As I said earlier, if you've never been, then you owe it to yourself to go (just skip that damned Stepfather nonsense). I'll be looking forward to seeing what next year's offerings include. Maybe a bigger selection of all-new mazes? Here's hoping. Happy Halloween, everybody!
