Knott's Scary Farm Halloween Haunt 2009
Oct. 17th

After the show, Anais met up with us to hit some mazes before her next call time and we went on back to Uncle Bobo's Big Top of the Bizarre, the maze back near Xcelerator in the CarnEVIL scare zone. Last year, this maze was the similarly clown-themed Killer Klown Kollege, and though Bobo's was no one's favorite maze, I'd say it worked better than its predecessor.

Big Jack is all right.

Loved this oversized jack-in-the-box outside, and the gassy elephant inside. This time, I got pwned by Jumbo's wind. Ewwwww! Yes, I am still quite amused by fart humor. Sue me.

Bonus!

Beauty and The Beast. "And if anyone else calls her Beast, I'll rip his lungs out." *Rimshot*

Next up, The Terror of London, where the former 13 Axe Murder Manor resided in 2008.

Nice!

This one had a "Jack The Ripper/Jeckle and Hyde" thing going on and it gets an A+ for scenery and mood. Really well done visually and one of the scarier treats. However, there were at least three rooms where there was nothing but scenery. Yo, where da killers at? Still, I'd put this in the top three of this year's offerings. Don't miss it.

Before we got to the two-fer maze, Lockdown: The Asylum and Club Blood, we experienced "The Stepfather" Scare Scene, a promotional attraction for the completely unnecessary, undoubtedly neutered remake of the Terry O'Quinn semi-classic.

Boooo!!!!

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT wait in any sort of line for this utter waste of time. Granted, I screamed when a werewolf burst out the doors while we were just outside, so that was cool, but there are no werewolves involved with this film, I'm pretty sure. And unless a plastic table saw swinging over your head is your idea of major thrills, move right along. That's all that happens. That's it. Pathetic.

Fortunately, we had the aforementioned double-maze to shake us out of our stupor, and both were adequately scary.

This is more like it.

The monster-infested prison vibe is a good one and Club Blood's sexy, high-tech vampire theme kills. Loved the laser-light dance cage chickadees.

Sexy vampires always work.

But neither packs the same punch the second time around. And a couple of the dancing vamps seemed a little tired. C'mon, work it, ladies!
